Our team and the community’s safety is our top priority and that is why our program has been temporarily moved online.

Staying 2 metres apart!

Due to the current situation with COVID-19, the White White Rock Youth Ambassadors program has made a few changes.

We want to thank everyone in White Rock who is still open and working - healthcare workers, grocery store workers and all other essential workers. It is because of you that our community members are able to stay home.

Due to the current situation with COVID-19, our current Ambassador Team (2019/2020) will be staying on to volunteer in the community for an additional year. Our current candidate’s time in the program has been extended to two years, as they will not be able to partake in the traditional judged events that would be happening at this time. They will continue working on parts of their candidacy this summer and be crowned as Ambassador’s in August, joining the current team for next year. They will finish their candidacy in Spring 2021. Their Gala has been postponed to July 30, 2021, when they will officially be crowned.

Although we have moved to an online format, training has not stopped. We have had many speech writing sessions led by toastmasters Monica Neville and Bob Milliken, who have helped the candidates develop their writing and public speaking skills. To see more of the Ambassador training and how the team is staying in touch with our city by the sea, check out our Instagram.

If you are interested in becoming a candidate, please still submit an application at any time, through our Contact Us page, and it will be reviewed by the head coordinator.

Support our program

Our program has always been funded through the generous support of the city of White Rock as well as our sponsors, which consist of local businesses and clubs. During these difficult times, many of our sponsors have been impacted by the closure of their businesses.

Your contribution will support our ability to continue to train the youth of our community to be the leaders of the future.
